The Freedom Theatre Acting School was establish in September 2009 and was part of The Freedom Theatre agenda to create a capacity of actors, director and stage technicians in Jenin area, Occupied Palestine. Rabe’e was a guerrilla fighter who decided to put downs the rams and pick up guitar. Batoul, 20 years old, always claims that she has two different struggles at the same time: one as a Palestinian against the Israeli occupation and the other one is to liberate her self as women in her own society. Along side with learning the art of acting the group produces and performs plays in front its community. Animal Farm and Fragments of Palestine were the last productions and very controversial.

Application Activity

The Freedom Theatre worked with a German and an Austrian youth theatre group in developing a language of communication through theater arts. The workshops, which one of them lasted for 5 days, were meant to accomplish a cultural dialog which ended up by a short presentation. The presentation was very successful and the group achieved its goal. The participants were dived into to group and each one of the group created a short scene combined from the experience that The Palestinians had in Germany and the encounter with the German youth.
