Junges Theater Basel
Junges Theater Basel is made up of young people from the city Basel and surrounding Basel, who want to make theatre and develop a piece. The courses/ groups are open and the youngsters can chose with whom they want to work.
JTB stages each year 2 professional performances; the cast are youngsters from the courses. Each year there are 3-4 courses with about 15 young players. The courses and the production are requiring each other, with regards to the content and the man power.
Application Activity
Junges Theater Basel decided to split there activity into 3 first they went to the city hall of Basel for the introduction of the company. Every member of the group presented themselves at the position of the speaker of the parliament with a personal demand on their behalf. Something they would ask the mayor to do. They also had to copy people on the street, on a bench or waiting at the tram, in front of a shop window… As well as asking people from the public to then go on and do things for them.
